Title of a Heinlein work.. but.. :) Sgt. Toby Meister is one of American’s heroes and a lot of us were there to honor him and to protect his family from the heinous insults of ridiculous people. But I want to let you know that Toby was also from good stalk and good people. His mother and father just came to visit me at my home. As you know, I broke my ankle at Toby’s funeral. They wanted to come by and thank myself and the entire Patriot Guard and all the motorcycles that were there. They wanted to impress upon me how good it felt for them to view the motorcycles lined up and parked as the funeral procession went by. I also got to meet Sgt. Meister’s son, Will, a very handsome young man that they tell me looks exactly like his father. They went on to tell me a story about them meeting our President, George W. Bush. The President had heard stories about Toby and he wanted to meet his family. He sat with them for forty minutes, all alone without the Secret Service or anyone else in the room. His family showed President Bush a scrapbook that was made by a woman in California that had hundreds of emails, pictures, and stories about Sgt. Meister. Present Bush asked if he could keep it and read the stories about Toby and then place it in the Presidential library where it will remain forever for people to look back on, understand, and research long after you and I have joined Toby. They gave me a picture of Toby’s son sitting on President Bush’s lap and a bottle of wine made by one of Toby’s family friends. I’m not sure what to do with the wine, whether to save it in honor of Toby or to share it with my biker friends in a toast to him. But when I figure out how, I will scan the picture of Toby’s son with the President and place it on the forum. I was honored to meet these people and talk to them, but I felt humbled, as I’m just a regular guy who rides a motorcycle and broke his ankle. My interest was and remains to honor their son. You know.. if George Bush keeps this up.. The people who think that Bush == Hitler are going to start thinking that Hitler wasn't such a bad guy after all..... (Well those don't already think so anyway). Source http://www.patriotguard.org/W... PS Thank you Cindy Sheehan for reminding me to continue to support the efforts of Soldiers Angels.
